Eagle River Chain of Lakes - northern portion, below dam
The Three Lakes Chain and Eagle River Chain combined is known as the largest inland fresh-water chain of lakes in the world! Lakes range in size from Lynx Lake at 28 acres to Catfish Lake which has 1012 acres.
The northern portion of the chain - Eagle River Chain - encompasses ten lakes that are well-known for Muskie fishing (Muskie rated A2 - Action Waters), Walleye, Perch and Crappie. Also found in the chain are Smallmouth bass, Northern Pike and Panfish. These ten lakes are known as the lower end of the chain because the water level is several feet lower than the Three Lakes (upper end of the chain).
